UNCF Pacific Northwest
An Evening of Stars® Weekend
January 25–28, 2013
UNCF (United Negro College Fund) is the nation's largest and most effective minority education organization. UNCF provides operating funds for 38 member historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs), and manages approximately 400 programs that provide scholarships, internships, academic support and mentoring to students at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral level. UNCF currently supports 60,000 students at over 900 colleges and universities across the country.
The purpose of the UNCF Pacific Northwest AEOS (An Evening of Stars®) Weekend is
to raise awareness of UNCF in the Pacific Northwest and to raise funds to
support scholarships for Pacific Northwest
minority and low-income students to attend colleges/universities across the
weekend highlights one of the longest running televised events in U.S. history,
UNCF An Evening of Stars®.
SUNDAY, January 27
BET Networks, 10pm PST/EST
UNCF will partner with BET
Networks to produce and air the nationally televised show that
focuses public attention on America’s need for more African American
college graduates and UNCF’s work getting students to and through
college. UNCF An Evening of Stars® began nearly three decades ago.
